A good colostrum supply is vital for calves and lambs. In the first hours after birth they absorb immunoglobulins (antibodies) through the gut wall. These are essential for immune defence and lay the foundation for a healthy start. In addition, colostrum contains a lot of fat and protein, which provides immediate energy to maintain body temperature. Even so, sufficient intake of good-quality colostrum cannot always be taken for granted in practice, for example because of low colostrum production or a lack of antibodies.

Topro Colostrum Mix has been developed to supplement the colostrum supply as well as possible. Topro Colostrum Mix consists of high-quality ingredients such as bovine colostrum, whey protein, hydrolysed protein, coconut oil and hen’s egg protein, supplemented with essential vitamins and trace elements. The mix is free from pathogens such as BVD, paratuberculosis and IBR.

Use and dosage

Give the milk as soon as possible, preferably within a few hours of birth, as maximum absorption of nutrients takes place during the first two hours of life.
Lambs: Mix 25 grams of powder with 80 ml of warm water (45 degrees Celsius) until the powder has dissolved.
Advice for very weak animals: mix 50 grams of powder with 120 ml of warm water.
